Theme 2. Acute and chronic diseases of the nose. Sinusitisis. Rhinogenous intracranial and orbital complications.

 Answer theoretical questions (short, till 0,5 page);

1. Acute rhinitis: etiology, clinical presentation, treatment, complications.

2. Acute sinusitis: clinical presentation, diagnostics, treatment.

 Answer to situational tasks.

3. Complains: nasal blockage, decrease of olfaction. The usage of decongestants ineffective. Considers himself sick for two years. Obj.: body temperature is normal, nasal mucosa is pink, not edematic, nasal meatuses contain plenty of grey-white rough structures which block the breating.

What is diagnosis?

 

4. Complains: heaviness sensation at the forehead region, nasal blockage, purulent discharge, increase of the body temperature up to 37.3 cg. Patient considers himself sick within a week after cold. Obj.: external nose is not changed, right side blockage. Nasal mucosa is hyperemic, nasal turbinates are edematic, bilateral “pus stripe” sign. What is diagnosis?
